Staying Local

We buy British whenever we can to ensure the best quality and seasonal variety, to support the growers in this country and to reduce the distance our flowers travel to us. Part of what makes our fresh flower designs so special is the use of Fairtrade, organic and sustainably harvested flowers and for these we often have to search further a field.

Offsetting our Impact

We offset the carbon created in transporting these flowers from the field to the florist to you by investing in a Methane Capture Project through the Carbon Neutral Company. This project captures methane that would otherwise escape from three abandoned coal mines in Germany. Methane is 21 times more potent than CO2 as a greenhouse gas and is therefore a far more efficient way to generate electricity and heat. The project generated emission reductions of 385,500 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2006 and 2007.

We also offset the carbon created by our courier and company vans bringing our flowers to you nationwide. In addition to our contributions through the Carbon Neutral Company, the flowers we send across central London are delivered by Petal Power using bicycle couriers whenever possible.
